Where do Framer form submissions go, and how to get alerts
Framer forms send submissions only where Send To points: email, Google Sheets or a webhook. How to set each up and get alerts on your phone.
- Updated
Short answer
Framer form submissions go only to the destinations set in the form's Send To setting: an email address, a Google Sheet or a webhook, and a form with none set sends nothing. For alerts, add Email as a destination and Google Sheets as a record. For Slack, Telegram or WhatsApp, send a webhook through Zapier or Make, or add a form alert service's script to the site's custom code.
Key takeaways
- A native Framer form sends nothing until you add a destination under Send To.
- The destinations are email, Google Sheets and a webhook, and you can use more than one.
- Framer says form submissions are unlimited on every plan.
- Webhooks are retried up to 5 times and signed, so your endpoint can check they're genuine.
- Keep Google Sheets as a record, because the help pages describe no submissions inbox inside Framer.
What is a webhook?
A webhook is a web address that one service calls to pass data to another the moment something happens. With Framer, choosing Webhook under Send To makes the form post each submission as JSON to the address you enter.

Where do Framer form submissions go?
They go wherever the form's Send To setting points: an email address, a Google Sheet or a webhook. Until you choose one, a native Framer form doesn't send its data anywhere, and Framer flags it with a "form not configured" error when you publish. So if nobody set Send To when the site was built, visitors may have been filling in a form that went nowhere.
If you've taken over a Framer site from someone else, it's worth a five-minute check. Click each form, look at what's listed under Send To, and make sure the email address belongs to someone who still reads it.
Framer's help pages describe sending submissions on to those destinations, not an inbox inside Framer where you can read them later [CHECK]. Treat the destination as your only copy. Framer says form submissions are unlimited on every plan, so there's no submission cap to watch, but there's also no archive to fall back on if an email goes missing.
Framer also has spam protection built in. It sets the visitor's device a small puzzle to solve in the background, which bots usually can't manage, and limits how fast submissions can arrive. Anything typed by a determined person still gets through, and you clear it out wherever the submissions are stored.
How do you get email notifications from a Framer form?
Add Email as a Send To destination on the form. You can set the recipient, sender name, subject and body, so the email says which form and site it came from.
-
Select the form
Open your project and click the form on the canvas.
-
Add a destination
In the right-hand panel, click Add… next to Send To and choose Email.
-
Fill in the email
Enter the address that should receive submissions, and set the name, subject and body. Put the form's purpose in the subject, such as "Quote request".
-
Add a second destination
Click Add… again and choose Google Sheets, so every submission is also kept in a spreadsheet.
-
Publish and test
Publish the site, fill in the form on the live address, and check the email arrives and isn't in spam.
Email is the simplest way to know about an enquiry, and it costs nothing extra. On a phone, it's as quick as your mail app's notifications, and an enquiry sits among everything else in your inbox. Giving these emails their own sound or a VIP setting in your mail app helps.
Before you rely on it, look at each input's name. Select a field and its properties panel lets you set the name used in submissions, and that name is what appears in the email, the spreadsheet column and any webhook. A field still called something vague from the template makes every enquiry harder to read at a glance, so rename them to plain words such as name, phone and message.
What about Framer's form integrations?
Framer can also host forms from other services, and then the submissions go to that service instead. Its help centre has guides for HubSpot forms, Formspark and Typeform, among others, and its Input component can sign people up to email tools such as Mailchimp and Loops.
If you use a HubSpot form inside Framer, the submission lands in HubSpot and HubSpot's own notification settings apply. How to get HubSpot form notifications instantly covers those. Native Framer forms can't post straight into HubSpot; you'd route them through a webhook and an automation tool.
How do you send Framer form submissions to Slack or Telegram?
Use the Webhook destination with an automation tool such as Zapier or Make, which turns each submission into a message. In Framer, select the form, click Add… next to Send To, choose Webhook, and enter a URL that starts with https://. Framer then sends every submission as JSON in an HTTP POST, using your inputs' names as the keys.
In Zapier, that URL comes from the Webhooks by Zapier app's Catch Hook trigger. Webhooks by Zapier isn't available on Zapier's Free plan, so this route needs a paid Zapier plan, at the time of writing [CHECK]. Add a Slack or Telegram step after it and map the fields into the message. Make offers its own custom webhook trigger in the same way.
If you build the endpoint yourself, it must answer with a 2xx status, because Framer doesn't follow redirects, and Framer retries up to 5 times if it doesn't get one. Each request carries a Framer-Signature header, signed with a secret of at least 32 characters, and a Framer-Webhook-Submission-Id header, so your code can check the request is genuine and ignore a repeat.
For the rest of a Telegram set-up, such as creating a bot, how to send Webflow form submissions to Telegram walks through the same steps for another site builder.
Which option suits you?
Most sites should use email and Google Sheets together, then add one faster route if enquiries need answering quickly.
| Option | What you get | Set-up | Extra cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| An email per submission | Send To → Email | None | |
| Google Sheets | A row per submission, kept as a record | Send To → Google Sheets | None |
| Webhook with Zapier or Make | A Slack, Telegram or other message | A webhook in Framer and an automation | A paid Zapier plan for webhooks [CHECK] |
| A form alert service | A WhatsApp, text, Telegram, Slack or Teams message | One script in the site's custom code | Free tier, then a monthly plan |
Email and Sheets cost nothing and need no code, so set those up first whatever else you do. A webhook makes sense when you already pay for Zapier or Make, or a developer is happy to look after an endpoint. A form alert service suits someone who wants enquiries to reach a phone as a message without running an automation, and who can paste a script into the site's settings.
How does a form alert service work with Framer?
A form alert service adds a script to your site that sends each form submission to your phone, while Framer's own Send To destinations carry on. Framer forms aren't one of the form plugins the script waits on for a success message, so they're sent as the visitor submits.
Formcrier is one option. Copy its script from Sites → Install and add it to the site's custom code, at the end of the <body> tag, so it's on every page. Formcrier's docs give the path as Site settings → General → Custom code → End of <body>; Framer's help currently describes a Custom Code tab in the project's settings, with a choice of where the code goes. Check your Framer plan allows custom code [CHECK], then publish.
The service only accepts submissions from the addresses you list, so if the site is also reachable on Framer's own free address or a staging copy, add those as well as your domain. Then open a page with the form, switch the form on under Sites → Forms, and connect where alerts should go: WhatsApp by scanning a QR code, a UK mobile, Telegram, Slack or Microsoft Teams. The Free plan includes 10 alerts a month, and the Framer integration page has more.
Frequently asked questions
Check the form has Email under Send To with the right address, that you've published since adding it, and your spam folder. A "form not configured" error means no destination is set.
Yes. Add several destinations under Send To, such as Email and Google Sheets, and each submission goes to all of them.
Framer announced in October 2025 that form submissions are unlimited on all plans. Limits may still apply at the destination, such as your automation tool's monthly task allowance.
Not necessarily. A webhook with Zapier or Make is one way; a form alert service that reads the form on the page is another, and needs no webhook.
