How to send Webflow form submissions to Telegram
Webflow can't post to Telegram itself. Compare Zapier or Make, your own bot with a Webflow webhook, and a form alert service, with steps for each.
- Updated
Short answer
Webflow can't send form submissions to Telegram on its own: it only emails them and lists them in Site settings → Forms, and Webflow Logic was switched off in June 2025. Connect Webflow's New Form Submission trigger to a Telegram bot with Zapier or Make, post Webflow's form webhook to a bot you run yourself, or paste a form alert service's script into Webflow's footer code.
Key takeaways
- Webflow's own form options are an email notification and the submissions list, with no Telegram option.
- Webflow Logic was switched off on all sites on 27 June 2025, so tutorials that use it no longer work.
- Every Telegram route uses a bot, and a bot can only message you after you press Start or add it to a group.
- On the free Starter Site plan, Webflow caps form notifications at five Workspace members and the site at 50 lifetime submissions.
- Keep Webflow's email notification on as a backup, whichever route you choose.
What is a Telegram bot?
A Telegram bot is an automated Telegram account that software controls through Telegram's Bot API. You create one with @BotFather, and it can post form submissions to you or a group once you've started a chat with it.

Can Webflow send form submissions to Telegram by itself?
No. Webflow's own options are an email notification and the list of submissions in Site settings → Forms, and nothing built in can post a message to Telegram. You need something in the middle: an automation tool such as Zapier or Make, a small bot you run yourself, or a form alert service.
Older tutorials often build this inside Webflow Logic, Webflow's own workflow tool. Webflow switched Logic off on all sites on 27 June 2025. Existing flows were disabled, forms connected to them became standard Webflow forms, and Webflow's help centre now recommends Zapier and Make in its place. If you followed one of those guides and the messages stopped, that's why.
Where do Webflow form submissions go by default?
Webflow stores each submission under Site settings → Forms and emails a notification to the address on your account. You can change who gets that email for each form: select the form, open the Settings panel, and under Send to click Email Notifications. The To field takes a comma-separated list of addresses, and the subject and body can use variables such as {{formName}} and {{formData}}.
Two limits catch people out on the free Starter Site plan. Notification emails can go to at most five recipients, all of whom must be members of your Workspace, and the site can receive 50 form submissions in its lifetime, at the time of writing [CHECK]. After that, submissions stop until you upgrade the Site plan. Webflow also suggests a name-based address such as jane@ instead of a shared one such as info@, which it says can hurt deliverability.
Whatever you add for Telegram, keep the email on. It's your record of every enquiry if a message goes astray, and it costs nothing.
What are the ways to get Webflow enquiries into Telegram?
There are three practical routes beyond Webflow's email, and the right one depends on how much you want to build and look after.
| Route | What you set up | Running cost | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Webflow email only | Nothing | Included with Webflow | A backup, not a fast alert |
| Zapier or Make with a Telegram bot | A bot from BotFather, plus a Webflow trigger and a Telegram action | Free tiers with limits, then a monthly plan | People who already automate other tasks |
| Your own bot and a Webflow webhook | A bot, a webhook in Webflow and a small server or function | Hosting, plus your time | Developers who want full control |
| A form alert service | One script in Webflow's footer code, then connect Telegram | Free tier, then a monthly plan | Owners who want alerts without building anything |
Telegram itself is free, and so is its Bot API. You pay, in money or time, for the piece that turns a Webflow submission into a Telegram message.
A quick way to choose: if you already pay for Zapier or Make for other jobs, add a Zap there. If someone on your team writes code and wants the message laid out exactly, build the bot. Otherwise, if you'd rather not own any of the moving parts, use an alert service. Whichever you pick, put the caller's name, phone number and the first line of their message at the top, so you can decide from the lock screen whether to ring back now.
How to connect Webflow to Telegram with Zapier
Zapier has a Webflow trigger called New Form Submission and a Telegram action called Send Message, which sends from a bot you own. You create the bot in Telegram first, then connect both ends in a two-step Zap.
-
Create a bot
In Telegram, open @BotFather, send /newbot, then choose a display name and a username ending in "bot". BotFather replies with a token. Treat it like a password: anyone who has it can control the bot.
-
Start a chat with the bot
Open your new bot and press Start, or add it to the group that should get enquiries. Telegram bots can't start a conversation, so they can only message people and groups that have done this.
-
Add the Webflow trigger
In Zapier, create a Zap, choose Webflow and the New Form Submission trigger, sign in to Webflow, and pick the site and form.
-
Add the Telegram action
Choose Telegram's Send Message action, connect the bot with its token, pick the chat, and build the message from the form's fields, such as name, phone and message.
-
Test on the live site
Publish your Webflow site, fill in the form yourself and check the message arrives in Telegram.
Make works in much the same way, with its own Webflow and Telegram apps. Both are the partners Webflow named when it retired Logic.
Check the running costs before you rely on it. At the time of writing, Zapier's Free plan includes 100 tasks a month and two-step Zaps only [CHECK]. Each submission uses a task, and an extra step to filter out spam before it reaches Telegram needs a paid plan. If spam is already a problem, read how to stop contact form spam without losing real enquiries first, because every spam message becomes a Telegram message too.
Can you build your own Telegram bot for Webflow forms?
Yes, if you're comfortable with a little code. Webflow can call a web address every time a form is submitted: go to Site settings → Apps & integrations → Webhooks, click Add webhook, choose the Form submission trigger and enter your URL. Webflow then posts JSON with the form's name and the data that was submitted.
Your code receives that, turns it into a short message, and calls the Telegram Bot API's sendMessage method with your chat ID and the text. Requests go to https://api.telegram.org/bot followed by your token and the method name. To find your chat ID, message the bot once, then call the getUpdates method and read the chat's id from the reply. You'll need somewhere to run the code, such as a serverless function, and the upkeep is yours: retrying when Telegram can't be reached, keeping the token out of public code, and handling spam.
Telegram's limits rarely matter for a contact form, though its FAQ says a bot can't send more than 20 messages a minute to one group. This route suits an agency with developers who want every alert shaped their way. For one small business it's usually more than the job needs.
How does a form alert service send Webflow forms to Telegram?
A form alert service reads the submission on the page itself and sends it to the destinations you've connected, so nothing changes in Webflow and there's no bot for you to maintain. What is a form notification service? explains how they work and what they keep.
Formcrier is one option. Its script goes in Site settings → Custom code → Footer code. Webflow allows site-wide custom code on sites with a paid Site plan, or in a Core, Growth, Agency or Freelancer Workspace. The script waits for Webflow's success message before it sends, so a form that fails its own checks doesn't alert you; a form that redirects is still sent, marked "success not confirmed".
-
Add your site
Sign up and enter your Webflow site's address.
-
Paste the script
In Webflow, go to Site settings → Custom code → Footer code, paste the script from Sites → Install, save and publish.
-
Switch on your form
Open a page with the form. It appears under Sites → Forms; switch it on.
-
Connect Telegram
Go to Alert destinations → Add destination → Telegram. Scan the QR code, or tap "Open Telegram" on your phone, then press Start in the chat with the bot. The link works for 7 days.
-
Send a test
Fill in the form on the live site. The alert arrives in Telegram within a few seconds.
For a shared team chat, choose "Send alerts to a group instead" and pick the group to add the bot to. Whoever gets the alerts can send /stop to the bot to pause them and /start to turn them back on. The Free plan includes 10 alerts a month; the Webflow integration page and Telegram alerts page have the details. If WhatsApp suits you better than Telegram, see how to get website enquiries on WhatsApp.
Frequently asked questions
Check that the form's To field still holds the right address, then check the submission count in Site settings → General → Overview. On the free Starter Site plan, Webflow stops taking submissions after 50 in the site's lifetime.
Yes. Add your bot to the group and send messages to the group's chat instead of your own. With a form alert service such as Formcrier, choose the group option when you connect Telegram.
No. Zapier, a webhook and a form alert service all run alongside Webflow's form handling, so submissions are still stored in Webflow and emailed as before.
Messages carry whatever visitors typed, so only connect chats that the right people are in, and keep your bot token private. If you run a business, mention the service you use in your privacy notice.
