Send website form submissions to Slack or Microsoft Teams
An enquiry in a shared inbox waits for whoever looks first. In a channel, the whole team sees it arrive and someone picks it up.
Why a channel works better than an inbox
Everyone sees the enquiry at the same moment. Someone reacts to say it's theirs, the conversation about it happens underneath, and nobody wonders whether it was answered.
The ways to do it
Which is best depends on what built your form.
- Your form plugin's own add-on. Gravity Forms, WPForms and others have Slack add-ons, usually on their higher paid plans. Few have one for Teams.
- A webhook. Slack and Teams both accept posts from other software. Someone has to write and look after the code that formats each submission and sends it.
- An automation tool such as Zapier or Make. Flexible, charged per task, and one more thing that can break without anyone noticing.
- A form alert service such as Formcrier, which does only this and works with any form.
Slack, with Formcrier
Add your website with one line of code or a plugin. Then press Add to Slack and choose the channel, such as #enquiries. Each submission is posted there with its main fields and a button to see the rest. Formcrier can only post to the channel you chose; it can't read your messages.
Microsoft Teams, with Formcrier
Teams alerts are posted by a workflow you add to the channel in Teams. Formcrier lists the steps. Paste the workflow's link into Formcrier, type in the code that appears in the channel, and each submission arrives as a card.
Different forms, different channels
Connect as many channels as your plan allows and choose which forms post where: sales enquiries to one, support requests to another. On Pro and Agency, routing rules can also send a submission by what was entered in it.
Slack and Teams posts count towards your plan's alerts. It's free for 10 a month.
Formcrier sends your website's form submissions to WhatsApp, a text, Telegram, Slack or Teams within seconds. Free for 10 alerts a month, with no card.
